After a three-year period without a traditional ruler, Ahantaman has welcomed a new leader, Otumfour Badu Bonsu III. The official enstoolment ceremony took place in Busua, where Ben Ansah was recognized as the new Ahantahene. This event marked the end of a vacancy that followed the death of the previous ruler, Otumfour Badu Bonsu XV. The ceremony, led by the royal Akade family and local kingmakers, was filled with celebration as residents gathered to witness the historic procession. At just 30 years old, Badu Bonsu III is expected to bring youthful energy and a vision for development while honoring the cultural heritage of the Ahanta people. Notably, the consensus among all factions of the royal family on his selection has been seen as a significant step towards unity in the community. As part of his responsibilities, he will soon announce the dates for the final funeral rites of his predecessor. The choice of his stool name, Otumfour Badu Bonsu III, will also be elaborated upon in due course. This event represents a renewal of authority and cultural identity for the people of Ahantaman.
