As final year students across the country prepare to complete the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on Friday 19th June 2026, the Ghana Police Service wishes to urge all candidates to remain disciplined, law abiding, and to celebrate responsibly upon the conclusion of their examinations.
The Service reminds students that acts of violence, vandalism, arson, assault, and any other unlawful conduct carry serious criminal consequences that can permanently jeopardise their futures and derail the academic careers they have worked hard to build.
The Police will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute any student found engaging in such conduct.
The Service has recorded two recent incidents of student violence in the Upper East Region that resulted in the arrest of six students.
At Zebilla Senior High Technical School, two students were arrested in connection with the arson of a teacher's apartment.
At Bawku Senior High School, four students were arrested for rioting, assault on school staff, and the destruction of school and private property.
The Ghana Police Service urges students, parents, guardians, and school authorities to work together to promote a culture of discipline, respect, and peace.
