The Chief Executive Officer of the *Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi*, has fired back at *Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin*, accusing him of deliberately spreading misinformation about the company’s finances.
Addressing the media at the *Government Accountability Series*, Mr. Gyamfi dismissed claims by Mr. Afenyo-Markin that GoldBod had incurred losses of about *GHS22 million*.
He described the Minority Leader’s approach as a calculated attempt to mislead the public.
“Afenyo-Markin's modus operandi is to repeat the same tired falsehoods as often as possible, and on as many platforms as he can, in the hope that repetition will somehow transform fiction into fact,” the GoldBod CEO said.
*GoldBod Sets The Record Straight*
According to Mr. Gyamfi, the press conference addressed by the Minority Leader in Parliament was part of a “persistent campaign of lies” waged against the Ghana Gold Board in recent months.
He said the engagement was necessary to correct the record and prevent further distortion of what he called the “remarkable performance and transformational impact” of GoldBod since its establishment.
