Wontumi Seeks Plea Bargain in Exim Bank Case — A-G Notifies Court

Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has requested a plea negotiation in the ongoing Exim Bank fraud case.
This was contained in a “Notification of Commencement of Plea Negotiation” filed at the High Court in Accra by Deputy Attorney-General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai on June 11, 2026.
The notice, filed under Section 162C(3) of Act 30, states that the 1st Accused Person made the request through his counsel, Andy Appiah-Kubi, ESQ., in a letter dated June 5, 2026, to the Attorney-General.
